Looking for something alittle different? Try Trapper Turnips! Deer absolutely love 'em. Trapper Turnips are extremely high in protein (up to 35%) and unbelievable low in fiber ... they carry the highest RFV I have ever seen in a forage crop (I've personally tested some that exceeded 400!) Trappers' give off that tell tale order of the brassica family (they smell like cabage plants), that bring deer in from miles around. |

Buck feeding on ChicoryIII Chicory has long been considered a European delicacy as a salad green in some of the fancier restaurants. In a foodplot, the deer seem to show a similar preference. There is a time in the fall, after the first good freeze, that deer will do anything to get at the Chicory III. This perennial does particularly well in a mixture - usually with Imperial Clover or Alfa-Rack Plus. I recommend that it be planted in small, secluded spots, in full sun. A deep tap root will draw moisture from the subsoil and the leafy, dandelion like growth is very competitive. Clipping with help suppress weeds that invariable infest a new seeding. But given time, the Chicory III will become naturally more competitive. |

Forever Alfalfa is truly a unique alfalfa variety. This one will regenerate itself from older existing plants in the population, using underground rhizomes. The stand density of most alfalfas begins to deteriorate from the first year. However, as long as Forever Alfalfa is grown in conditions that are favorable, it will continue to generate new plants as other age and die off. This is the most persistent alfalfa that exists. No alfalfa is more winter hardy. It also has a lower, thicker growth habit that is perfect for browsing deer. Occasional clipping and fertilizer applications will help insure a long, healthy life. |
